What's the secret to Lauren Hutton's everlasting success?

If you asked a large group of people to name a successful older actor and mature model, chances are that Lauren Hutton’s name might come up.

The 72-year-old has maintained a career long after the traditional sell-by date for actors and models. There’s no doubt her incredible beauty has played a part in her longevity, but her long-lasting success is also down to her attitude.

Simply put, Lauren Hutton doesn’t see any practical reasons for not continuing to model and act. She’s made the successful transition from classic model to female model over 40 and then added the other decades in with ease.

She’s famous for her rejection of plastic surgery, saying: “We have to be able to grow up. Our wrinkles are our medals of the passage of life. They are what we have been through and who we want to be. I don't think I will ever cut my face, because once I cut it, I'll never know where I've been.”

That stance is part of her appeal. Advertising might like to tell us that 50 is the new 40 etc., but you know that Lauren Hutton is saying 70 is… just that, 70. Let’s celebrate age and the mature model and let’s not pretend she’s younger than she is.
