Natalie Wakeling

Natalie Wakeling made modeling history when she graced the pages of Cosmopolitan in Australia's first editorial shoot featuring plus-size (Size 14) model, back in 2000.
Natalie was signed with FORD models in New York almost immediately and Elite Models in NY shortly after.
Over the past 16 years, Natalie has enjoyed a meteoric rise to becoming one of Australia’s most recognizable plus-size models, working with every major Australian title, plus-size brand and large retailer.
Career highlights include walking for L’Oreal Paris Trends Parade in Australian Fashion Week.
Two front covers for Dutch Magazine Yes! And more than 25 appearances in Australian Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Natalie has been at the forefront of promoting diversity and acceptance within the fashion community for 16 years.
In 2006, Natalie’s frustrations at not being able to find luxurious, on-trend fashion labels that fit her curves led her to start designing her own
plus-size fashion line, EMBODY DENIM by Natalie Wakeling.
With a focus on exceptional fabrics and an eye for flattering cuts for the size 14-22 markets, Embody Denim has become one of Australia’s leading independent plus-size labels, and is set for expansion in 2016.
Wakeling says, and have worn my fair share of unflattering jeans and felt there was a definite gap in the Australian market for styles and colours that I didn't feel embarrassed to wear. I was tired of having to settle for unattractive plus-size jeans when I knew I could design something special that could make fashion-starved, curvy women feel fabulous.”
Embody Denim is sold through The Iconic and on http://www.embodydenim.com.au
Natalie regularly contributes to websites and panels as a resident ‘curvy- style expert” to the growing plus size
